Shadron M This is a good show. Well written and especially well acted. It wasn’t impossible to work out but they didn’t drop many hints for the last episode early on except one at the very beginning.It’s not an action flick, so anyone who commented on pacing doesn’t seem to understand the mystery genre. For a mystery it was pretty well paced. I’ve seen many slower ones that are highly rated. I have not read the book, but my sister has and she said Emma Myers was perfect for Pip, so I’d say that’s a win-win. One character change is that she was pretty impulsive and had the “brave enough to be stupid about it” personality trait, but that bravery was weirdly likeable. Ultimately it has a great ending and sticks the landing.STOP HERE IF YOU DON’T WANT SPOILERSIt was pretty badass that she walked right up to a creepy teacher and told him he was evil for taking advantage of a teenage girl, walked away to tell the tale, and came back to do it again for an interview while he was in prison. I hope they make the sequels into seasons too, I need to get more of this series. If I don’t I’ll just have to read the books I guess. Although I might do that anyway. For example, why would the hotel receptionist say that Andy was there a couple of weeks ago, implying she was still alive when she wasn't? How did the teacher make his family believe they had sold their old house, yet still use it for lonely drinking and kidnapping? And who murdered the dog?! Apparently, none of this matters to the story, and these questions are never answered. The story attempts to be a smart detective mystery, but it feels like it lacks proper editing.
