Cranberry Orange Relish has been a staple Thanksgiving dish in my family for years. It will soon be a staple in your home too!

Cranberry Orange Relish has been a staple on my family’s Thanksgiving table since I was a kid. It has probably been a staple for longer than that even. My dad, who likes to cook, but doesn’t often have the time, is always in charge of this dish, and the stuffing of course! The bright flavors of orange and cranberry are so refreshing, and balance out all of the comfort foods like green bean casserole and mashed potatoes.

This couldn’t be easier to put together—you can have it done in less than 2 minutes—in less time than it takes to unmold that store bought cranberry jelly! All you have to do is pop the 3 (T H R E E !) ingredients into the food processor, pulse, and serve.

This afternoon Jonathan and I made a quick batch so that we could take some new pictures. I coached him through what to do, but he made it completely on his own, other than me cutting the oranges. I’m telling you—this is easy enough that a 2 year old can make it!

I hope this family favorite lands a spot at your Thanksgiving table this year. It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving in my house without a scoop of this on my plate. I hopethis will become a staple for you too! When you make it, take a picture and post it to social media. Be sure to tag me so that I can see it! { @frieddandelions // #frieddandelions }

Servings: 8 -10 servings

Author: Sarah De la Cruz

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cranberries (frozen and thawed are fine)
  • 10 oz whole orange (with peel, cut down into smaller pieces (4 clementines would be perfect))
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Place ingredients into food processor, orange rinds and all, and pulse until it has broken down to a relish consistency with small flecks of orange and red showing.

  • Place in sealed container and refrigerate to allow flavors to blend.

  • Enjoy! Keeps for several days and is easy to make ahead of time.

Notes

To thaw frozen cranberries, simply pour the whole cranberries into a bowl and fill with warm water. Allow them to sit for a couple of minutes, then strain and proceed.
